Care instructions
Hand wash (max 30°C) or dry clean. If hand washed, do not wring or twist - remove excess water by shaking it out. Do not tumble dry. Iron at maximum (high) temperature. Cockle is the very special effect of this fabric. As this fabric is 100% handmade it may have some knots or natural unevenness. To preserve the special character of this textile, use fabric stiffener after washing.

Studio Natural was founded in 1990 by acclaimed textile artist Laima Kaugure, whose guiding phrase is “linen is a lifestyle.” Kaugure treats the Riga studio as an artistic laboratory, combining traditional weaving knowledge with contemporary fabric development to challenge the idea that linen is merely plain or rustic. Her work spans home textiles, clothing, scarves, bags, and bespoke interior pieces. The studio uses European flax and weaves its fabrics in Latvia in limited quantities on traditional wooden looms. Kaugure adapts established techniques rather than copying them unchanged, sometimes combining linen with wool and other fibres to create depth, structure, and unexpected translucency. A gentle hand-softening process prepares the cloth for daily use without stripping away its natural character. The studio makes textiles to be worn, washed, and lived with, becoming softer and more personal over time.
