Woodcraft objects and cutting boards
Raibi Koki
Ķekava, Latvia
Raibi Koki is the workshop of Andris Budrēvičs, a trained artistic furniture joiner who has been making durable household objects in his home workshop near Ķekava since 2016. His range includes end-grain and serving boards, kitchen accessories, jewellery, games, and small keepsakes made from different hardwoods. Budrēvičs has been drawn to wood since his youth because no two grain structures are alike. He combines contrasting natural colours and textures, allowing the character of the material to determine the final pattern rather than forcing exact repetition. End-grain construction is especially practical: the fibres meet the knife edge vertically, helping the board endure repeated cutting while being gentler on blades. The result is functional woodwork designed for long use, with variation treated as part of its value.
